Fukushima Community Power Declaration

International Community Power Conference 2014 in Fukushima

Overview

Aim

Institute for Sustainable Energy Policies (ISEP) holds International Community Power Conference with the aim of exploring the keys for successful planning and development of community based renewable energy through the dialogue among the domestic and international pioneers, experts and challengers.

The deployment of distributed renewable energy lead to communities’ benefit if local people take the ownership of the projects. And local people’s participation and cooperation enable renewable energy projects to become rooted in the local communities and that produce various social benefits. Such renewable energy development is called as “Community Power”, and the idea has created new global trend in rapidly growing renewable energy sector.

“International Community Power Conference 2014 in Fukushima”, following 2012 in Tokyo and 2013 in Yamaguchi, is held in Fukushima City (Day1) and in Kitakawa City (Day 2). In the conference, we discuss not only renewable energy market development, but also support policies, impact on local economy, social acceptance and new concepts including demand side of community power.

Please join the conference, which will be the meeting place of Community Power pioneers in Japan and the world.
